CRISIS Meeting at Aston

23/3/2009

Emergency planners and emergency services representatives are attending Aston Business School for a series of CRISIS talks with academics. The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), has commissioned the CRISIS Centre to hold a series of seminars on "Emergency Response Preparedness in the UK."

The second seminar in the series, "Using models for emergency responder preparedness," takes place on 23rd and 24th March 2009 at Aston University. It aims to focus attention on how emergency responders, government officials and the public can more effectively respond to major catastrophic incidents.

The seminars are hosted by Professor Duncan Shaw and Dr Pat Tissington of Aston Business School. Professor Shaw said: "We are looking at ways that Britain can plan for large scale emergencies such as floods or terrorist attacks."
