Workshop on Workplace Behaviour

27/11/2008

On Tuesday 18 November, Aston Business School hosted an event for MBA alumni in collaboration with AMBA, the Association of MBAs. Katie Porkess, from KP Management Solutions Ltd, ran a workshop, "Milgram, Mayo & Maslow – What Next?". Katie is an independent consultant for both the private and public sectors and her work focuses on stress and its effects in organisations.

Discussion for the evening focussed on research into workplace behaviour, covering issues relating to group dynamics. The session made a valuable contribution to Katie’s doctorate research into the effects of pressure on team behaviour. It was a highly interactive workshop, which made it an interesting and stimulating evening.

Graeme Dixon, the AMBA Regional Chair for the Midlands, commented: "It was an intriguing evening, where we all learned something about ourselves. Afterwards there was an excellent debate about the issues raised during the interactive and thought- provoking session".
