New Dean welcomes new board members

26/4/2007

Three new members of Aston Business School advisory board have been officially welcomed by the new Dean of the school.

Professor Michael West took up his role this month after previously occupying the position of Head of Research at the business school.

He replaces Professor John Saunders, who oversaw the rapid growth of Aston Business School during the last decade into one Europe's leading institutions.

Prof West is now looking to build on the expansion of recent years and says the appointment of Glyn Pitchford, Farah Baksh and Julie Burgess emphasised the stature and high quality leadership of Aston Business School:

"In Aston Business School, Birmingham now has a world-class business school at its heart," continued Prof West.

"We will build on our strengths to attract excellent staff and students from across the world, provide opportunities for our local businesses and community and create knowledge that helps practice and policymaking."

In teaching, national measures awarded Aston Business School a perfect 24/24 score. It also remains ones of the few business schools in the world triple accredited by the American AACSB, the European EQUIS and AMBA.
