Business School looks forward to record year

17/8/2006

Aston Business School is getting ready to welcome a bumper intake.

Recruitment for the School’s 17 undergraduate degree programmes is up again in 2006 despite a downwards national trend in applications.

This autumn, undergraduate numbers are expected to top 700, up from 658 last year.

Dr Helen Higson, Director of Undergraduate Studies at Aston Business School explains: “We are recruiting more students than ever before at the same time as maintaining quality - the majority of our students will have at least ABB grades at A level or equivalent.

“Our applicants know what they want from their degrees and clearly have an eye on the future: they know the experience they get from the industrial placement years will enhance their skills, confidence and employability.”

Aston Business School is also bucking another major national trend, numbers are up almost 50 per cent on the International business degrees, including those with modern languages while many universities report declining interest in languages.

“Applicants realise business is global,” adds Helen.

Today Aston; tomorrow the world!
